Transcription

The process of converting speech in audio or video recordings into written text.

Transcription converts spoken language into text. In legal contexts, transcription of evidence recordings (body-cam footage, depositions, interviews) produces a written record that can be searched, cited, and referenced. AI-powered transcription can process hours of footage in minutes, producing timestamped text that links back to the original recording. Unlike court reporter transcripts, AI transcription is not certified but provides a fast first pass for review and case preparation.
