Speaker Diarization
The process of identifying and labeling who spoke when in an audio or video recording.
Speaker diarization is a speech processing technique that segments an audio stream by speaker identity. In legal evidence review, this means each line of a transcript is attributed to a specific speaker — such as "Officer 1," "Subject," or "Witness." This is critical for body-cam footage and depositions where multiple people are speaking and attribution matters for legal proceedings. Saul uses AI-powered speaker diarization to automatically label speakers throughout the transcript.
